Ticketing Terms and Conditions and Visitor Admissions Policy

These terms and conditions apply to all tickets purchased for entry to Trent Park House of Secrets, whether booked online in advance or purchased on arrival on site. By booking or purchasing a ticket, either on site or online, you agree to these terms and conditions and to our Visitor Admissions Policy set out below.

1. Booking and Entry

1.1 We advise all visitors to book online in advance to guarantee entry at their chosen time. A limited number of walk-up tickets will be available on the day, but entry may be delayed at busy periods and cannot be guaranteed.
1.2 Advance tickets are sold for a chosen arrival time rather than a fixed entry slot. When you book online, you select an arrival time, for example 10.00am or 11.00am. You are welcome to arrive at any point within that hour. If you arrive a little earlier or later, you will still be admitted, though at busy times there may be a short wait.
1.3 The last admission is 4.00pm and the museum closes at 5.00pm. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday and is closed on Mondays. Tickets remain valid for the day and time selected only.
1.4 Please bring your booking confirmation, either printed or on your phone, to show on arrival.
1.5 Tickets are for personal use only and cannot be resold or transferred for profit. Any visitor presenting a resold ticket will be denied entry.
1.6 Only tickets booked via trentparkhouse.org.uk will be accepted. Tickets purchased through third parties will not be accepted for entry.

 

2. Admission

2.1 Admission prices are as displayed at the point of booking. Under 5s are admitted free. Carers accompanying a paying disabled visitor are admitted free. Proof of student status will be required on arrival where a concessionary rate has been selected.
2.2 Free reciprocal entry for members of the Museums Association and ICOM is a walk-up option only, available on presentation of a valid card and subject to capacity on the day. It cannot be booked online.
2.3 Family pricing, where offered, is applied automatically at checkout when the qualifying combination of tickets is selected.
2.4 Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

 

3. Refunds, Exchanges and Cancellations

3.1 Once purchased, all tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. This includes requests to change ticket types or to transfer tickets to a different date or time.
3.2 Where a ticket has been Gift Aided, it cannot be refunded or exchanged under any circumstances, as any change to the transaction would invalidate the Gift Aid claim.
3.3 We understand that occasionally circumstances beyond your control may prevent your visit. Any request outside these terms will be considered on a discretionary, case-by-case basis, and we make no guarantee that it will be granted.
3.4 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

 

4. Gift Aid

4.1 Gift Aid is a voluntary scheme that allows Trent Park Museum Trust, as a registered charity, to reclaim tax on eligible donations at no extra cost to you.
4.2 If you choose to add Gift Aid, you confirm that you are a UK taxpayer and that you have paid, or will pay, an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year at least equal to the amount that all charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs you donate to will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year. If you pay less, it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
4.3 The Gift Aid declaration must be made by the individual taxpayer, using their own UK home residential address. A business, school, overseas or other organisational address, or a billing address that is not your UK home address, cannot be used for Gift Aid. Please ensure the address you provide is your own home address, so that your declaration is valid.

 

5. Getting Here and Parking

5.1 The nearest London Underground stations are Oakwood and Cockfosters on the Piccadilly line, both approximately a 20-minute walk from Trent Park House.
5.2 Free parking is available in the council-owned Trent Country Park car parks, one accessed from Cockfosters Road and the other from Ferny Hill.
5.3 There are three Blue Badge parking spaces beside the House, close to the entrance, allocated on a first come, first served basis. Blue Badge holders must email access@trentparkhouse.org.uk in advance to reserve a space and to be let through the estate gate. This can be arranged on the morning of the visit if necessary. Where all three spaces are already reserved, we will do our best to advise on alternative arrangements.

6. Visitor Admissions Policy

6.1 Behaviour. We want every visitor and member of our team to feel safe and welcome. We ask all visitors to behave considerately towards our staff, volunteers and fellow visitors. We reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove, any person behaving in a manner that is abusive, threatening or disruptive, or that risks damage to the historic house or its contents.
6.2 Children. Children remain the responsibility of the accompanying adult at all times and must be supervised throughout the visit.
6.3 Bags. To protect the historic interiors, only small bags may be brought into the museum. Large bags and suitcases cannot be admitted. A limited amount of space may be available near the entrance, but this is not a cloakroom and items are left entirely at the owner's risk.
6.4 Buggies. A buggy park is available on the east terrace near the café. Buggies are left there at the owner's risk and are not taken through the historic rooms. Bicycle racks are also available near the café.
6.5 Footwear. For the comfort and safety of visitors and to protect the historic floors, we recommend sensible footwear. In some cases we may offer heel protectors.
6.6 Photography. Photography is permitted for personal use, but flash photography is not allowed, in order to protect the historic interiors and collection.

 

7. Accessibility

7.1 The museum is wheelchair accessible to both floors via a lift, and all primary exhibition spaces and visitor areas have been designed, within the constraints of a historic building, so that everyone can explore and enjoy them.
7.2 Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the museum.
7.3 A hearing loop is available. Please ask a member of staff for assistance.
7.4 Accessible toilets are available on the ground floor, next to the café, and in the basement.

8. Groups and Schools

8.1 We warmly welcome group and school visits. Group and school bookings should be arranged directly with us rather than booked online. Please email groups@trentparkhouse.org.uk and our team will be happy to help you plan your visit.

 

9. Data Protection

9.1 Any personal information you provide when booking is handled in accordance with our privacy policy, which is available on our website.

 

10. General

10.1 For general enquiries, including questions about your booking, please email enquiries@trentparkhouse.org.uk.
10.2 We reserve the right to alter opening hours, close all or part of the museum, or amend these terms where necessary, for example for operational, safety or conservation reasons.
