As we prepare to open our doors in Summer 2026, volunteers will play an indispensable part in welcoming visitors, supporting school pupils in our new Clore Learning Space, and ensuring the success of diverse events for all. By joining us on this journey, you become an integral part of the effort to honour the extraordinary contributions of the Secret Listeners.

Trent Park House Volunteers

At Trent Park House of Secrets, we inspire our volunteers to become champions of the impressive heritage of this extraordinary place. Through historical research and the gathering of oral histories, our team of volunteers support us in unearthing and sharing the House’s secrets more widely.

To prepare for the museum opening in summer 2026, we have recently launched Sharing Stories: Connecting Trent Park House with Enfield's Communities, a project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund

Sharing Stories is designed to tease out further stories of the House and add to its unique heritage. These stories will be revealed either through research at the National Archives Kew, the Imperial War Museums or via oral history interviews with local people with links to the House.

Volunteers are integral to this project, helping us to uncover the secret stories of Trent Park House, most of which have been hidden for many years. We are currently looking for additional volunteers to join us in revealing yet more secret stories, ranging from the history of eavesdropping and the use of 'stool pigeons', to the House's connection with Winston Churchill. We have a dedicated team who offer training and provide support to volunteer historians who wish to join us in this exciting project.

If you are interested in the more practical side of volunteering and wish to support us in becoming a Volunteer Steward or Learning Guide once the museum opens, please do get in touch.

What our Volunteers Say

"I’m just really excited. I think Enfield needs a space like this. It’s important we remember these things and that we open it to members of the public."
