October 2025 - Last month, members of the team visited the studio of model maker and artist Ben Taggart, of BT Model Making and Design, who has been commissioned by Trent Park House of Secrets to create a scale replica of the house, ready for our 2026 opening.
The bespoke model will be a significant part of the visitor experience, telling the remarkable story of the house in miniature. The finished work will be revealed next year when the house opens to the public.
Ben specialises in accurate replica models of listed buildings, historic reconstructions and heritage projects. This special commission will help bring to life the extraordinary story of Trent Park House – from its glamorous 1930s heyday as home to politician and socialite Sir Philip Sassoon, who entertained the era's most influential statesmen, journalists and royalty, to its secret wartime role as a surveillance centre where 'Secret Listeners' hidden in the basements monitored conversations of high-ranking German prisoners of war held in the rooms above.
Ben welcomed Giuseppe Albano, Director of Trent Park House of Secrets; Jason Charalambous, Founding Trustee and Co-Chairman, and Helen Lederer, Trustee and granddaughter to 'Secret Listener' Ernst Lederer.
Take a look at some of our videos below to see the model in progress.
